good new drugs - bad new side effects

A key policy issue is the direction of research toward drug solutions which must be patentable but which result in new drugs ever more alien to the body with consequential side effects.  The interest in the use of age old essential oils for common ailments which are derived from plant matter to which the body is relatively well adapted is not just a response to consumer fashion.  It is a response to genuine prescribers concerns.
