One of the most enduring forms of form and informal research is the narrative story. An immense amount of information can be contained in a short story form. Merely telling the story tells us as much about the narrators bias, attitudes and integrity and is as informative as the story itself. Narrative lends itself to social research.
One of the most famous narratives in aromatherapy is the story of the researcher Gattefosse's use of lavender. The story has become somewhat stylised. In fact the story as related by Gattefosse hi9mself is far more powerful
